Austin, Texas has been considered the music capital of the United States for over 20 years. Austin City Limits and SXSW have brought in millions of tourists every year to see artists of every genre perform. Access to live music is considered a right of passage to the people who live within the city limits, regardless of age.

The goal of SLUDGE was to capture Austin’s music scene within the college circles. The DIY approach is common amongst young students attending these shows. Regardless of major, ethnic background, sexuality, gender identity, or even music preference, this scene brings everyone together in small spaces that are vital to keeping Austin’s music scene alive.
